The sustainability jewellery industry aims to have minimal impact on the environment and preserve worker’s human rights by creating jewellery using environmentally friendly and circular methods of production.

What is upcycling?

Upcycling is the process of taking waste or discarded materials, and reworking them to create new products. At Maverick Musing, we really focus our values on forward-thinking ethical theories which are built on more circular methods. One is known as the circular economy. Our designs are handmade from recycled and second hand materials, mainly freshwater pearls and gemstone beads, constructed with the ability to reuse and rework in the future. Read our Circular Economy blogpost to find out more.

How are the beads, pearls and crystal gemstones sourced?

All of our beads, pearls and crystal gemstones used at Maverick Musing have either been recycled from vintage/costume jewellery or purchased second-hand. Our products are often made by recycling old jewellery pieces and combining them, making each piece truly one of a kind.

How is the silver sourced?

The sterling silver used at Maverick Musing is sourced from Bellore Rashbel. As a brand with slow and circular values, we aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible. However, we cannot guarantee that all the findings of our sterling silver used is 100% recycled.

Where is the jewellery made?

All of our jewellery is lovingly handmade in London by owner and founder Kashope.

How can I become a Maverick Recycler?

Become a Maverick Recycler and repurpose your old, unworn jewellery with us by either emailing us with your query at hello@maverickmusing.com, or visit Recycle With Us to be part of the Maverick Musing recycling community.

What can you do with my old jewellery?

We can either repair your old and broken pieces or transform them into something completely new. At an extra cost, we can add materials sourced from our own collection of sustainable and second-hand pearls, crystals and gemstones. We can also combine two or more pieces together to create a bespoke design that is tailored to your style.
